Membership and Professional Certification

Professional Certifications:

The ALP…the basic certification for legal professionals (formerly the ALS) is designed for individuals at the apprentice level

The CLP … the advanced certification for legal professionals (formerly the PLS) is designed for those persons having three or more years of legal experience

The PP…the professional paralegal certification is an attainable goal for paralegals  who wish to be identified as exceptional in all areas of the law.

The CLP and PP exams are given twice per year in March and September.  The ALP exam is given four times per year in March, May, September and December.  Testing centers designated by NALS are available nationwide.

Scholarships which can be used toward study materials and the exams are available through VALS and NALS.
